Location    –    Factory Based

Job Description

The role will include:

  • Working in the Rebuild area of our factory, building our tankers after the paint process has been completed
  • Fitting pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to our tankers
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area
  • Adhering, and working, to Health and Safety regulations
  • Full training will be given to the right individual

Job Requirements

  • Background working in a production environment particularly body building is an advantage
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge would be useful
  • Experience in or an aptitude for vehicle electrical systems would be beneficial
  • Ability to understand drawings would be of benefit
  • Ability to use your own initiative
  • Team working
  • Attention to detail, working to high standards
  • Being mechanically minded is essential
  • Ability to work under pressure

Package

  • Starting salary is £22,000, dependent on skills, aptitude and experience, with the potential to progress to £32,000

Job Description

The role will include:

  • Servicing vehicles both Whale and Non Whale
  • Repairs to vehicles both Whale and Non Whale
  • Completion of all paperwork in a timely manner
  • Identifying opportunities for additional work and reporting this
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area
  • Adhere, and work, to Health and Safety regulations

Job Requirements

A Background in the majority of the following areas

  • Vehicle Electrics
  • Pneumatics
  • Hydraulics
  • General Mechanical Skills
  • Fault finding skills
  • Ideally have an engineering apprenticeship
  • Whilst not essential knowledge of commercial vehicles or agricultural machines would be beneficial
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to read and follow drawings
  • There will be occasions where you need to work outside in all weathers
  • It is essential that you are able to work in confined spaces and at height

  • Starting salary £25,000 – £29,000 (dependent on skills and experience) with the ability to get up to £32,900

Location    –   Service Admin Department

Job Description

The role will include:

  • Raising job sheets and book work into the workshop.
  • Update the service schedule with service jobs.
  • Maintain Workshop job sheets. Enter parts used and reconcile hours booked.
  • Research, prepare and generate workshop repair quotations.
  • Order parts in preparation for workshop repair jobs.
  • Maintain stock and re-order when necessary.
  • Raise purchase orders, reconcile costs and book stock in.
  • Arrange Transport collection and deliveries.
  • Enter workshop hours onto the system.
  • Chase workshop job purchase orders.
  • Maintain job folders on the company server
  • Administer Oil waste disposal. Manage stock levels.
  • Processing customer order numbers for jobs.
  • Liaising with customers and service engineers.
  • Invoicing repairs
  • Take credit card payments
  • Administrating of holiday system
  • Booking and administration of ADR tests
  • Administration of workshop equipment check sheets
  • Scheduling engineers vans stock stake and audits
  • Scheduling engineers vans in at garages when required
  • Assist with bi-annual engineer meetings
  • Scheduling of engineer training
  • Any other ad hoc duties

Role:

Working with other designers in the Engineering Department to provide

  • Programmable controller based designs
  • PLC programming
  • Electronics support

For the wide range of specialist high-performance jetting and vacuum tanker systems manufactured by Whale Tankers.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Design and support of PLC based control systems
  • Selection of appropriate electrical and electronic equipment
  • Design and support for electrical circuits
  • Training of technical, production, sales and service staff
  • Developing supporting documentation
  • Review of electrical safety and reliability aspects

Knowledge and experience should include:

  • Experience of Electrical/Electronic/PLC design work
  • PLC application programming (mainly CoDeSys/IEC61131 function block logic)
  • Broad understanding of control and automation systems
  • PLC programming & testing
  • Typical industrial sensors and other equipment & interfacing
  • Electrical test and data logging equipment
  • Computer literate
  • AutoCAD or similar

It would be an advantage to have some knowledge of:

  • Hydraulics, pneumatics, water and vacuum pumps
  • Radio control
  • Knowledge of IFM programmable controllers and equipment
  • Power supplies
  • EMC and circuit protection, reliability issues
  • Fieldbus systems, especially CAN
  • Safety (Machinery, ATEX, Intrinsic Safety)
  • Environmental requirements/packaging
  • Computers and operating systems
