Department: Production (factory based)
Salary: starting salary DOE £30,000 – £32,000 with the ability to get up to £36,000

Job Description:

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Working in the Final Assembly area of our factory, building our tankers after the paint process has been completed
  • Fitting pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to our tankers
  • Operating the vehicle to ensure functions are working correctly and diagnose faults
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area
  • Adhering, and working, to Health and Safety regulations
  • Full training will be given to the right individual

Job Requirements:

Essential:

  • Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge
  • Ability to understand drawings
  • Ability to use your own initiative
  • Team working
  • Attention to detail, working to high standards
  • Being mechanically minded
  • Ability to work under pressure

Desirable:

  • Experience in or an aptitude for vehicle electrical systems would be beneficial

Job Description:

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Servicing both Whale and Non-Whale vehicles
  • Repairs to both Whale and Non-Whale vehicles
  • Carrying out welding repairs
  • Completion of paperwork in a timely manner
  • Identify opportunities for additional work and reporting this
  • Maintaining a clean, organized and productive work area
  • Adhere, and work, to Health and Safety regulations

Job Requirements:

Essential

  • A background in welding is desirable
  • Ability to drive is essential
  • The ability to manage your own time
  • Knowledge and experience working with commercial vehicles, plant machinery / HGV vehicles
  • Be of a practical and decisive nature with the ability to use common sense when reviewing issues
  • Have the desire to learn on a daily basis
  • Be a good problem solver with the ability to see an issue to its end
  • The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

Desirable

  • An engineering background including knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electric circuits

Job Description:

  • Working in a team environment to complete the tank build process.
  • Understanding the relevant legislation and procedures to ensure that our tanks are welded to the standard required
  • The role includes welding in both Mild and Stainless Steel at a variety of thicknesses
  • Work to standard operating procedures and engineering data sheets to complete the welding process
  • Work in accordance with Whale Health & Safety policy and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintenance of a clean, organised and productive work area
  • Effectively communicate with members of the team to ensure the process runs smoothly.

Job Requirements:

  • It is essential that you have MIG welding experience in both Mild and Stainless steel at various thicknesses
  • Pipe welding experience is desirable
  • The role will require the successful candidate to pass multiple welder qualification
  • Background working in a production environment
  • A positive attitude
  • Ability to understand SOP’s to assemble components for our tankers
  • Good communication skills
  • Methodical and organised approach to tasks
  • Good time management
  • It would be an advantage to have a forklift and overhead crane licence

Job Description:

  • Working in a team environment to complete various parts of the paint process.
  • Re-Assembly of tanker components after they have been painted using hand tools and power tools to fasten fit and secure components ready for the next part of the production process.
  • Apply Chapter 8 decals.
  • Do small localised repairs to the paint work.
  • Work to standard operating procedures and engineering data sheets to complete sub assemblies to then be fitted to our tankers.
  • Use of plant machinery including forklift truck and overhead crane to fit components to chassis and tank body.
  • Work in accordance with Whale Health & Safety policy and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Effectively communicate with members of the team to ensure the process runs smoothly.
  • Other parts of the process including chassis and component preparation and build strip down will be part of this role.
  • Opportunities to expand the role to cover shot blasting, vehicle strip down and steam cleaning operations.

Job Description: Working in a fast paced environment as part of the Production Team to deliver a high quality of work on time.

Job Description:

  • The apprenticeship scheme will be 36 months at Level 3
  • You will receive training on site & through our provider (Warwickshire College), along with continuous support.
  • Your working week will be full-time 37.5 hours.
  • Study time and support will be available within working hours
  • End point assessments will be carried out by the Approved Independent Assessment Organisation
  • Welding and fabrication in carbon and stainless steel.
  • Become a skilled engineer working in Production to build bespoke tankers, working alongside and training with highly experienced members of staff,
  • This job role will enable you to understand how our products are built from start to finish.
  • You will also have the opportunity to gain experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Job Requirements:

  • An interest to develop a skilled hands on role
  • Maths and English GCSE grade A-C / 5 or above are essential
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to work well with others.
  • Effective personal organisation and time management skills.
  • Willingness to undertake training to improve his/her skills base.
  • To be I.T. Literate and familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Aptitude for logical thinking and process. A drive to learn and commitment to studying.
  • The ability to work as a team member
  • To work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines.
  • To be able to prioritise workload and work under own initiative.
