Making its SUBCON debut is Whale Enterprise Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of UK-based Whale Tankers – one of the largest manufacturers of liquid waste vacuum tankers and jetting equipment in Europe, and a company that today sees its parts and equipment exported to countries worldwide.
From its base in the Indian Sub-Continent, Whale Enterprise was established in 2011 to meet not only the needs of its parent company, but cross industry sector customers in the design, manufacture and supply of bespoke parts and assemblies for mobile applications. With a workforce that today stands at over 175, WEPL is using SUBCON to promote its product offering, one that showcases the latest design, production and testing technologies deployed to create high quality and competitively priced components available through its specialist subcontracting service.
Designed and manufactured to European accredited ISO 9001:2015 quality standards using the latest CAD/CAM technologies, all products are fully legislatively and regulatory compliant. Available in base metals of iron, steel and aluminium, plus other materials such as plastics and rubber, all products are manufactured to meet bespoke customer requirements. Precision engineered to exacting high quality standards, each product is also extensively tested to ensure 100% reliability.
Across all stages of manufacture WEPL utilises the latest technologies, all of which are located at the company’s 25,000 sq ft manufacturing site in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a facility that is equipped with the latest CNC technology, including both horizontal and vertical turning centres. Also featured are four and five axis machining centres, the latest grinding equipment, plus an in-house fabrication centre, paint plant and testing and quality control area. The production operation is coordinated by a highly skilled team of design and manufacturing engineers who possess vast experience in creating parts and assemblies for customised projects. Using the latest technology and simulation software, development of a diverse range of universal and complex products has been made possible.
Echoing the philosophy of parent company Whale Tankers, this year celebrating 50 years of innovation themselves, WEPL adopts a policy of progressive quality control improvement at each and every state of production. Furthermore, a 20-plus strong team of support engineers, all of who are fully trained in the latest CFD and FEA techniques, work closely with both Whale Tankers and external customers to deliver an outstanding and industry-leading customer support function.
On-hand at SUBCON will be representatives from both Whale Enterprise and Whale Tankers specialising in the fields of design, production engineering and development, testing and quality control.
As Mark Warmington, Managing Director of both Whale Tankers and Whale Enterprise states: “SUBCON is the perfect platform from which to showcase and promote the diverse range of subcontracting services that WEPL has the capability of supplying. We are confident that key players from a wide variety of industry sectors will be keen to explore not just WEPL’s capabilities, but share in its vision and commitment to the future that is aligned to Whale Tankers’ ethos of providing reliability, service and value for life.”
