FLEXIBILITY AND ADAPABILITY OF WHALE MVC ARE KEY FOR CLEAR-FLOW

A new Whale Medium Volume Combination (MVC) tanker is being delivered to south west based drainage solutions specialist Clear-flow. It was selected by the company due to its flexibility and adaptability of operation.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see the new 18 tonne vehicle on stand 5C110. The tanker will be based at Clear-flow’s Devon depot located near to Exeter and will be deployed on operations throughout the south west in Somerset, Avon and Cornwall as well as across into Hampshire.

Robert Eustis, Senior Operations Manager for Clear-flow, said: “With Whale being a leading supplier to the waste industry in the UK, we’ve been using their vehicles for more than 20 years. In fact, currently 90% of our tanker fleet is built by Whale.

“All of our vehicles have been purpose built for the work we undertake, particularly for the handling of liquid waste. This covers everything from small domestic customers right up to those in the large commercial sector, including numerous leading water authorities.

“Our new tanker will be carrying out a range of work including blockage clearing, gully emptying and duct jetting. We find the Whale MVC to be highly flexible and adaptable, meaning it is able to handle a wide range of waste applications.

“In addition to the product quality, Whale’s after sales support service is superb, in particular replacement parts which are mostly supplied within a 24-hour turnaround. Ensuring vehicle uptime is critical to our business and this is always an important consideration when seeking a new addition to our fleet, as in this latest purchase for us.”

The 18 tonne MVC is built on a DAF Euro VI chassis with an 1,800 gallon tank and features a Mistral 701 vacuum system. Additional features include adjustable traffic directing arrow and an electrically heated handwash unit.

With its headquarters in Redruth, Cornwall, Clear-flow was established in 1982 as a small drainage services provider. Today it is part of the Goonvean group of companies and employs more than 70 people.
